Grade 8 Concert 10/18/2011
The grade 8 band students will be showcasing their talents on Oct. 26th, 7pm in the small gym. Students will be showing their parents how to put together their instruments, how to get a sound, and performing several of their songs they have been working on in class. 2 Comments Squeak and Squawk 09/14/2011
Grade 8 Band students are invited to the All City Band Squeak and Squawk night on September 22nd, 6:45pm at Porter Creek Secondary. Students will receive their instrument and specialized instruction on care and maintenance, technique, and learn their first few notes. Please be advised this is an non-instructional day for students but Squeak and Squawk is still on! Band students are out now selling magazine subscriptions to support our Vanier music program. Not only does this fundraiser support literacy in our own community, but it helps to fund projects like bringing clinicians to the school, covering entrance fees for YAC performances, buying new materials and more.
